About Doctor Jimmie G Biles

Doctor Jimmie G Biles is a board-certified and fellowship-trained Orthopedic Surgeon who has practiced orthopedic surgery in Cody, Wyoming since 1987. He started his practice in July of 1987 and founded Big Horn Basin Orthopedic Clinic and later founded Yellowstone Sports Medicine and Bone & Joint LLC.

Doctor Biles did his Residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. At that time, the University of Mississippi was the only level-one trauma center in Mississippi, thus providing Doctor Biles with a tremendous amount of trauma experience.  This experience has been an invaluable asset while practicing medicine in rural Wyoming. Doctor Biles has a love of knowledge and has always enjoyed reading and studying current concepts and practices in Orthopedic Surgery.

Doctor Jimmie G Biles loves outdoor activities such as hunting, shooting guns, and photography. He met his wife Rachael at the University of Mississippi while she was working in orthopedic research, and they married in 1984. He and his wife Rachael are avid animal lovers. The Biles have two successful adult children who are married and living in Colorado. They have been blessed with three grandsons.

The Biles love Wyoming life and are very blessed to have lived in and served Wyoming for over 30 years.

Orthopedic Services

Doctor Jimmie G Biles has a special interest in Joint Replacements. He performs replacements for the knee, hip, shoulder, ankle, CMC or thumb and great toe. Doctor Biles practices General Orthopedics including foot and ankle injuries. He sees patients of all ages and orthopedic issues. He has extensive experience in Sports Medicine, treating athletes of any level from the elite athlete to the weekend warrior. Having practiced in a rural Wyoming setting for over 30 years, Doctor Biles has seen and taken care of patients with a wide range of injuries and orthopedic conditions.

Community Outreach

Doctor Jimmie G Biles has been very active in the Big Horn Basin communities since 1987. Along with contributing to a myriad of local charities, Doctor Biles has provided Certified Athletic Trainers to area schools free of charge for 20+ years. Doctor Biles believes that maintaining a strong, healthy body helps prevent injuries.

Yellowstone Sports Medicine offers a state-of-the-art weight room facility with a full-time strength and fitness coach. Doctor Biles is proud to offer the use of the facility to area high school and college athletes as well as local law enforcement, firefighter personnel, and our military free of charge. He has worked with the Justin Sports Medicine Team and has covered the PRCA Rodeos during the Cody Stampede as well as the Cody Nite Rodeos for all of his practice.
