Dr. J. Alex Sielatycki is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon with extensive experience diagnosing and treating spinal conditions, including spinal stenosis, bulging discs, radiculopathy or pinched nerves, spondylolisthesis, degenerative disc disease, spinal fractures, and other painful neck and back conditions. His practice focuses on motion-preserving treatments for the neck and spine, and he has extensive experience performing cervical disc replacement surgery. He provides advanced spine surgery in Cody and Powell, Wyoming, with an emphasis on preserving mobility and avoiding spinal fusion whenever appropriate. Dr. Sielatycki is dedicated to improving his patients’ quality of life and helping them return to active lifestyles.

Doctor J Alex Sielatycki has dedicated his practice to developing surgical methods to preserve motion and avoid fusion of the spine whenever possible. He is extensively involved in the development of a lumbar spine total joint replacement, the MOTUS total joint replacement, that is in FDA clinical trials. Doctor Sielatycki has received multiple awards for his contribution to research as well as his academic achievement. He enjoys the intricate complexity of treating spine conditions.

Doctor Sielatycki did his residency at Vanderbilt University where he trained under the late Doctor Clint Devin. Dr Sielatycki has said “Dr Devin was quite influential in persuading me to pursue a career in Spine surgery. I always enjoyed working with him and he was a tremendous mentor and friend to me.”

Doctor J Alex Sielatycki joined Steamboat Springs Orthopedic and Spine Institute in 2022. He started his outreach to the Cody/Powell area in August of 2022. Doctor Sielatycki provides medical outreach to rural areas that are under-served and in need of specialized spine care. He has clinics in several Colorado and Wyoming locations including Rock Springs, Gilette, Douglas, Powell, and Cody, Wyoming.

Doctor J Alex Sielatycki enjoys the outdoors and loves spending time with his family. Doctor Sielatycki and his wife Karen have 4 beautiful children.

He is dedicated to research in his field and has received multiple awards for his research and academic achievement. Doctor Sielatycki sees patients of all activity levels and ages. He studied under world-renowned spine surgeons and completed a fellowship at New York-Presbyterian/ Columbia University Medical Center in Comprehensive Adult and Pediatric Spine. He has extensive experience in treating complex conditions of the spine.
