Yellowstone Sports Medicine offers a full range of orthopedic services including surgeries of the foot and ankle, major joint replacements, sports medicine, and general Orthopedics including severe trauma to the skeleton. Dr. Biles has a special interest in total Joint replacements, performing total knee, hip, ankle, shoulder, CMC, and great toe replacement surgeries.
Dr. Biles is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon. He has completed two fellowships in Sports Medicine and has lived and worked in Cody Wyoming for over 30 years. Dr. Biles believes that “Sports Medicine applies to all of us not just for athletes.” It takes strength, endurance, and coordination to succeed in all walks of life. As a sports Medicine trained orthopedic surgeon Dr. Biles has specialized, extra training in body mechanics with a focus on getting people back to the life they want to live.
Our Story
Dr Jimmie Biles and his wife Rachael met at the University of Mississippi where Dr. Biles was doing his Orthopedic Residency and Rachael was working in Orthopedic Research. After Dr Biles completed his residency, he then completed two fellowships in sports medicine. The first was in Jackson, Wyoming with John Feagan, and the second was in Oklahoma City, OK with Bill Grana. Both Dr. Biles and Rachael fell in love with Wyoming while living in Jackson, Wyoming.
They moved to Cody, Wyoming in 1987 where Dr. Biles was the only Orthopedic Surgeon in the Big Horn Basin for almost 2 years. Dr Biles was the founder of the Big Horn Basin Orthopedic Clinic. He began seeing patients at West Park Hospital and opened the clinic on Allen Street in 1988. In 2003 Dr. Biles was instrumental in the construction of the Cody Medical Arts Complex. Dr. Biles’ Clinic is on the main floor, in Suite B.
Dr Biles was one of the first physicians in Wyoming to employ Physician Assistants in his practice. We are extremely fortunate to have Christiopher Randall PA-C and Amy Randoll, PA-C seeing patients here at Yellowstone Sports Medicine. They both have an exceptional knowledge of Orthopedics, and care for patients with the same level of skill, compassion, and concern that area patients have come to expect from Dr. Biles and his team.
Community Outreach
Dr. Biles’ lifelong passion for learning has contributed to his success and love of orthopedics and taking care of patients. He has donated his time and resources to area schools, the community, and local rodeo events for his entire practice. He is a member of the Justin Sports Medicine Orthopedic staff which covers the PRCA and Extreme Bulls rodeos during the Stampede over the 4th of July in Cody.
